Greenpeace Events for this weekend

Have you ever thought about getting more involved with other Greenpeacers near you? This could be for you. This Saturday 20th January, Greenpeace groups across the UK will hit the streets for a global day of action to protect the Antarctic. Over 40 volunteer-led events across the UK have been organised. Find out if an event is happening near you: https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/antarctic-event

This is what Greenpeace Plan:

Here's the plan: after some introductions we'll put on our best penguin faces to create striking photos and videos. On the exact same day, Greenpeace groups from across the globe will meet to do the same thing. We'll use these to show the UK Government and other important world leaders just how many people are looking to them to create an Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary this year - so we need lots of people there to make it look really amazing. Whether you're trying this for the first time or have been campaigning with us for years, our local groups look forward to welcoming you on the day: https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/antarctic-event

Don't have a penguin costume on hand? Don't worry, penguin masks will be provided when you arrive, so you just need to wear black and white clothes to complete your penguin look. It'll be fun and a great way to get to know other like-minded people in your area, as well as help raise the profile of this important campaign.

It's also an open event, so feel free to bring your friends and family. Unfortunately, it's impossible to organise an event in every single location, so I'm sorry if there isn't an event happening nearby, but there will be plenty of other ways for you to get involved in the coming months. If you can't make it to an event, make sure you're following Greenpeace on Facebook (or follow #ProtectAntarctic on your other social media accounts). Come 20th January, we'll be sharing fun things you can do online to help spread the word.

Thanks for all that you do, Rachael, Sam and the team at Greenpeace UK
